Youth, sharing, effort, commitment, fair play, excellence, open-mindedness and respect for cultural diversity, these are the words that could sum up the WorldSkills Competition.
During the National Finals, for three days, the competitors must carry out works which concentrate the technical difficulties of each trade, in conditions very close to the real life of the companies. The respect of deadlines and costs, the optimal use of equipment and materials, safety… are all constraints to be respected, in accordance with the requirements of the current economic world.
The qualities that will make the difference? Precision, speed of execution, creativity.
And there is an additional difficulty: managing the stress caused by the large number of visitors. The competition is indeed a real challenge that requires great self-control.
Masonry, hairdressing, catering, sheet metal work, boiler making, aeronautical maintenance…
All sectors of the economy are represented in the competition, which gives a concrete vision of the trades and current skills.
For three days, tens of thousands of visitors will discover the trades through the competition, but also thanks to animations and information areas. Whether they are still hesitating about their future career or looking for a change of career, visitors will find answers to their questions and perhaps even more: a vocation.
In France, professions and professional training are still looking for the consideration they deserve. And yet, just like our young champions, our companies and their employees demonstrate their performance and skills in many areas. And aren’t these skills based on qualifications acquired through apprenticeship, training and real-world experience?
There are many successful career paths, some of which are exemplary and should always be highlighted!
Choosing a vocational pathway can therefore be synonymous with success and personal fulfillment.
